6061 6063 telescopic anodized aluminum poles have a moderately strength but are heat treatable. They have good corrosion resistance although not quite that offered by the 5000 series. One characteristic that makes this series very useful is its ability to be easily extruded into a wide variety of shapes and lengths. The 6061 offers great strength and machinability aht 6063 but the latter has better extrudability. The 6061 6063 anodized aluminum poles are widely used in the building industry from window frames to bridges, because their extrudability, corrosion resistance and tensile strength. In addition they are readily welded and all tend to anodize well. 6063 anodizes better than 6061 particularly where bright application are required.
